One of the world's most prestigious and successful global law firms currently has a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Supervisor to join their accounts team in London. Reporting to the Finance Manager and Office Administrator in the London office, the Finance Supervisor will supervise the accounts department ensuring that on a day to day basis the department completes all tasks in a timely efficient manner to the highest standard and in accordance with all regulatory and statutory requirements. Responsibilities include supervising members of the Accounts team including training, performance monitoring and contributing to annual staff evaluations.

The Finance Supervisor will primarily be responsible for, amongst other tasks, the cash requirements of the office and the preparation of VAT returns. Applicants must have previous relevant experience working in a similar finance position in a medium to large law firm or similar professional services organisation. An accounting qualification is highly desirable but not essential and strong knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules is required. The Finance Supervisor will have demonstrated skills and experience in directing, supervising, motivating and leading the work of others whilst being hands-on.

The Finance Supervisor will also be able to organise projects and systems related to finance departments and have the ability to solve problems, be innovative, organised and have a strong eye for detail. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.) is essential and working knowledge of CMS Aderant and/ or Elite 3e/ Elite Enterprise would be a distinct advantage. The ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing is key as the Finance Supervisor will deal professionally with people at all levels in the Firm and with clients and outside suppliers. The Finance Supervisor must have the ability to prioritise work and work under pressure to tight deadlines. Applicants must have the willingness to work additional hours as and when required to meet deadlines and be diplomatic, professional, and courteous, with sound judgement and a flexible approach to work.
