Job Purpose

To provide an effective and efficient disbursement function within the Finance Department.

Key Responsibilities

●          Chrome River: Monitor and approve all expenses submitted to ensure they are within the Travel and Expense Guidelines.  Maintain the Chrome system.

●          Assist international offices with training and queries in all aspects of accounts payable and expenses.

●          Supervise Accounts Payable Officers, checking payments and assisting with monthly reports as required.

●          Undertake regular reviews of all unpaid and unbilled items, using initiative to clear down such items.

●          Projects: Chrome River roll-out; Elite 3E upgrade; new invoice system; on-line forms; intranet maintenance; and involvement in other projects as required.

●          General office administration, eg. filing, retrieving copy documents.

●          Providing holiday cover to other members of the Finance team.

●          Any other ad hoc duties as may be required.

Key Skills & Experience Required

•          A minimum of two years' Legal accounts experience.

•          A minimum of six months' supervisory experience.

•          Knowledge of expense management software, eg. Chrome River.

•          Good knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules.

•          Broad understanding of UK VAT legislation and its application to purchase ledger and cash book transactions.

•         Experience in an international environment and on-line international payments advantageous.

•          Accurate keyboard skills.

•          Computer literate, with good knowledge of MS Office.

•          Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

•          Self-starter, with the ability to use initiative and manage own workload effectively.

•          Enthusiastic team player with good interpersonal skills; helpful and willing to go the extra mile.

•          Customer focus; willingness and ability to deal with enquiries from budget holders and suppliers in a confident, efficient and friendly manner.

•          Good numeracy, organisation skills and strong attention to detail.
