Court of Protection Paralegal.
I have a new role available with one of the country's largest and best respected Court of Protection teams, based at their Birmingham office.
The team has grown consistently since inception and has strength at all levels of fee earning and support, enabling them to highly professionally and sympathetically manage the affairs, assets and estates of clients who, for various reasons, lack the capacity to manage their own finances.
You will ideally have a background in Court of Protection work, however as this is a growing area, candidates who have come from a general private client advisory background and who wish to specialise in Court of Protection work will also be considered, though you will be expected to have researched the Court of Protection field and have a working knowledge of what would be involved.
The workload will consist of Court of Protection services including deputyships, damages management, trusts, lasting and enduring powers of attorney, and Wills, and the team combines legal expertise with financial management and planning, investments, tax returns, and accounting services. Due to the nature of the work, a mixture of skills will make you successful in this role which would include technical proficiency, strong communication skills and a sensitive approach to your clients. You will engage with a range of clients and therefore must be able to develop strong relationships, providing support but still with a focus for the work involved.
