A new opportunity has arisen for a Regulatory Lawyer to join the legal team of a global securities business for a six-month contract, based in the City of London.

Reporting into the Head of the Regulatory Legal team, the Regulatory Lawyer will be responsible for monitoring, identifying and advising the securities business and bank on legal, regulatory and market developments arising under regulatory changes.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing legal advice in relation to the following areas:
    • Strategic business initiatives and projects
    • Market infrastructure issues
    • Regulatory projects
    • Operational issues
  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating documentation for the following arrangements and services:
    • Clearing systems
    • Commission-sharing agreements
    • Network management and custody agreements
    • Technology and vendor contracts
  • Providing training on legal and regulatory issues
  • Participating in industry forums and working groups

Key requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with demonstrable experience in advising and implementing regulatory change projects, particularly in relation to market infrastructure
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of advising on and implementing regulatory requirements such as MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, Volcker, EMIR and the European cross-border licensing framework
