Legal Counsel

An established privately held insurance company with over 5,000 employers and a legal team based in Hampshire and London are looking for a senior level Legal Counsel to join their in-house team for an insurance focused role. This is a full-time position offered on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities of your new role

Joining a talented and dynamic team of 7 lawyers, you will deal primarily with insurance regulatory matters as opposed to the commercial side of things. In this Legal Counsel role you will:

• Liaise with key stakeholders daily
• Confidently advise the business
• Draft insurance-based agreements, TOBAS and contracts
• Deal with product development
• Liaise with underwriters and the claims team

Additionally, the successful In-House Counsel will need to keep up to date with regulations, liaising with the FCA and advising the business on regulatory and governance matters.

The legal team is based in Hampshire so ideally the role would be based there however, they have offices in London so there may be flexibility with regards to location.

Candidate requirements

To be successful in your application to this Legal Counsel role you will ideally demonstrate:

• An insurance background ideally gained in-house
• Strong knowledge of the regulations affecting this sector
• 6+ years of PQE in insurance law
