JDI Legal - North East legal recruitment specialists are currently working on behalf of a top 200 law firm in the Newcastle area recruiting an experienced Lawyer likely to be an Associate or Senior Associate for their Regulatory team.
The department currently acts for several public sector bodies in relation to Inquests and Judicial matters and count among our client base organisations and individuals who require advice and assistance in their efforts to ensure that they discharge their regulatory obligations in a sensible, proportionate and pragmatic fashion. Building on existing instructions, principally in the Healthcare sector, we are looking to expand our Regulatory team as part of the firm’s overall growth strategy.
The role will involve advising and assisting individuals and businesses across a wide range of sectors who are encountering challenges in complying with relevant legislation and who may be facing enforcement action from a range of regulators, including the Health and Safety Executive, the Environment Agency, the Care Quality Commission, Professional Regulatory bodies and Local Authorities amongst others.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in this field and will be experienced in representing clients at interviews under caution and before Tribunals, Magistrates’ Courts and at Inquests. Whilst the firm does not currently act for any regulatory bodies, we are open to the possibility of doing so in the future and the role is also suitable for those who have experience of or an ambition to develop such a practice.
In short the team are after a self motivated, highly organised and enthusiastic individual with excellent business development skills who is confident in promoting the firms regulatory offering. An ability to work collaboratively across the firm with lawyers to develop existing client relationships is essential.
