Legal & Regulatory Risk Lawyer

This global City-based law firm has an in house legal team with an international and cross-functional advisory remit. The team is spread across a number of offices but this role is based in London and will focus on the provision of legal and regulatory risk advice and support.

You will be responsible for legal and regulatory compliance, including issues concerning the regulation of the firm, its international operations, its adjacent businesses, and its lawyers. This may include responsibility for data protection, information security and confidentiality issues, market abuse, share dealing, outside interests, publicity, escrow arrangements, confidentiality undertakings, FSMA and the Scope rules, consumer legislation, audit letters, DAC6, Modern Slavery.

You will also be responsible for the firm's Terms of Business and template engagement letters and as well as responses to legal and regulatory questions in pitch documents. You will also provide HR support around high level lateral hire partners and/or teams, staff exits, support for the annual SRA PC renewal exercise and supporting investigations where there might be a regulatory or other reporting obligation.

The role will suit a qualified lawyer with over 4 years' experience ideally working in a similar environment with broad, generalist experience including regulatory compliance (ideally in private practice with an international Top 20 firm or a regulator), experience of the SRA Handbook, FSMA or similar regulatory regimes and in the design, implementation or management of any technology-based compliance systems and processes.

Language skills, particularly Mandarin, Cantonese, Russian, German or Arabic are an advantage.
