Immediate start for a Company Secretary to join a Public Sector provider on a perm basis. Central London based.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Company Secretary with ICSA qualification; and with experience in drafting the Minutes of Board meetings and updating corporate registers including (but not limited to) gift registers and declarations of interests to join a busy Public Sector provider based in central London.
This role sits within the Legal Department and also the Chairman & Chief Executive's Office. The role will liaise with senior stakeholders across the Boards and colleagues at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport ("DCMS").
I'm looking to speak to a Company Secretary who can act as the Governance Assistant in order to ensure the smooth running of the Legal and Company Secretarial office.
Supporting a Head of Legal and taking an active part in the wider legal team you will be responsible for:
- Providing support to the General Counsel & Company Secretary by ensuring the smooth running of those offices and dealing with all related administrative tasks such as diary management, ensuring respective Managers have all paperwork necessary for meetings, making travel arrangements (domestic & international travel), and preparing expense claims.
- Managing the day to day running of the Legal Contracts database including the scanning/uploading of contracts, recording in the system key contract management dates (such as contract renewal, termination and expiry dates) and respond to contract management requests and queries from business stakeholders.
- Supporting the updating process to various Company Secretarial Registers including the Corporate Risk Register, Register of Interests, Register of Gifts & Hospitality, carry out other duties as required from time to time to ensure all statutory obligations regarding filing /keeping of records is maintained.
Essential experience and skills for success:
- ICSA qualified or part-qualified or equivalent.
- Proven track record of working at Director and Board level.
- Experience of regulatory or legal environment and context.
To be considered for this role you will be a Company Secretary / Governance Assistant with 2+ years experience. You will be able to work effectively in a fast paced team environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are key to your ongoing success.
