We have ambitious goals and we know it’s the expertise and enthusiasm of our people that fuels our growth.  Right now we’re looking for an outstanding Company Secretarial Assistant to join our UK Legal Team. This role will be based in Edinburgh and will report to our Senior Corporate & Competition Legal Counsel. The UK Legal Team consists of 10 members.

Responsibilities of your new role

You will assist the Head of UK Legal / Company Secretary, Senior Corporate & Competition Legal Counsel and the rest of the UK legal team in the delivery of high quality legal services and legal risk management to the Heineken UK group.  You will support the Heineken UK group by managing company secretarial processes and matters and ensuring UK compliance with statutory disclosure and reporting requirements.  You will also enable the efficient and effective operation of the UK legal department. Aspects will include:

  • Company Secretary:
    • Managing all company secretarial processes including document creation, submission of necessary filings and accurately maintaining all company secretarial data to ensure statutory compliance.
    • Managing UK aspects of Global company secretarial projects, implementing new processes/tools and provide support on UK company rationalisation.
  • Intellectual Property: Management and monitoring of IP portfolios (including trademarks, domain names and company names).
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with legal governance/registrations (including Money Laundering, Data Protection, FCA and Law Society) and ensuring UK compliance with Global legal initiatives.
  • Legal queries & processes:
    • Managing legal input for insurance claims and all general internal and external legal queries.
    • Develop and manage all systems and reporting for the organisation and functioning of the UK Legal team including knowledge management, shared filing systems, contract management and storage software, time recording and related management reporting, and organisation to ensure the most effective operation of the team.
  • Financial Control: Control spend on legal cost centre, production and analysis of financial reports and management reporting.

What do I need to qualify for this role?

  • To ensure success you will be a Company Secretarial Paralegal or be willing to undertake this qualification as part of the role.
  • You will have relevant business experience and be willing to adapt these skills to the areas above. 
  • The ideal candidate for this role will be diligent and have determination and a strong completer/ finisher mentality.  You must be able to manage conflicting priorities of a complex series of responsibilities. 
  • You will have a flexible attitude and the ability to multitask and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
