In House - Regional Counsel - Corporate M&A lawyer - 5- 12 yrs pqe - London
Our client’s raison d’etre is to acquire and operate insurance and reinsurance companies and portfolios within Europe.
Reporting to the GC in Bermuda, the successful candidate will be an autonomous Corporate M&A lawyer based in London to lead on and run the European transactions. Assisting the GC to provide professional and transactional legal advice, the Regional Counsel will work alongside the transactional team offering advice within the local regulatory framework to ensure the smooth completion of European M&A transactions.
Candidates will be confident self-starters who have excellent time management and organisational skills whilst also possessing good communication skills, especially at Board level . This role is varied and offers the successful candidate the potential to gain invaluable transactional and in-house experience and develop their skills and knowledge.
Experience in the Insurance sector would be beneficial but is absolutely not essential. Ideally candidates will have 5yrs+ M&A experience, with some in-house exposure (whether as a secondment or within your current role). It is essential that the main part of your current role is M&A transactional work.
The role will be based in London, and will require periodic travel to Ireland and other European common law jurisdictions.
