Legal Counsel

A growing, acquisitive and successful company based in Shoreham is looking for a qualified Legal Counsel to join them for a part-time, permanent role. Newly created due to continued success and expansion, this in-house opportunity is a Sole Counsel role.

Responsibilities of your new role

Reporting into the Directors of the business, you will handle a range of commercial and M&A transactions and provide strategic, senior-level commercial advice to the business. As Legal Counsel you will form a conduit between external advisers, customers / clients and the business decision-makers. The part-time Sole Counsel will enjoy varied and challenging work, including:

• Transacting customer and client contracts - reviewing, drafting and enforcing Company Terms and Conditions and drafting bespoke client terms when needed
• Reviewing and advising upon client NDAs, incentive agreements and supplier contracts
• Ensuring the Company is protected from a legal compliance standpoint
• Supporting and managing M&A on behalf of the Company and providing support to the Directors
• Transacting and advising upon commercial property leases
• Working with HR on enforcing employment contracts and dealing with any litigation that may arise
• Managing the Legal P&L budget with a focus on reducing external spend

Candidate requirements

The business wishes to hire a Legal Counsel who demonstrates:

• UK fully qualified Solicitor with 5+ years of PQE
• Solid private practice training
• Prior in-house experience
• Impeccable communication and negotiation skills
• Strong attention to detail and inscrutable commercial nous
