The Department

The Brand and Marketing Operations team is managed by the Head of Brand and Marketing Operations (who reports to the Director of Marketing and Business Development), and is comprised of teams that look after events, internal and external communications, design, website, social media and the CRM system. There are seven members of the team who are based in London but work globally to support the firmwide business plan and the practical implementation of all firmwide, sector initiatives and marketing activity.

The Role

Working with a Senior Graphic Designer, you will be one of our principal brand guardians, responsible for ensuring that our marketing collateral, supports and delivers against the firm's business objective to be a leader in its chosen sectors of focus.

You will be collaborating with a wide range of people of varying degrees of seniority including partners, associates and others, both in your own and other business support teams to reach the firm's target audience in core sectors, through the use of print and digital channels.  Core aspects of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • The design and production of a wide range of print and digital based core marketing materials including, client bulletins and briefings, brochures, guides and co-branded articles.  Other materials could include advertising, event materials, banner/exhibition stands, presentations, business development materials, promotional goods, posters, flyers and other ad hoc projects as necessary.
  • Maintaining asset libraries containing both staff and sector based photography.
  • Working with both internal and external print suppliers, to produce materials in a timely manner, and ensuring that deadlines for production are met.
  • Updating and development of the firm's website, using a bespoke content management system and basic HTML coding.  Liaising with the firm's external web agency where necessary,
  • Maintaining the firm's brand guidelines, including best practice, ensuring that they develop in line with the firm's growth and needs.
  • Working with lawyers and members of the Marketing & BD team to ensure that all marketing collateral harnesses cross-sell opportunities where appropriate.
  • Exploring new creative ideas and opportunities, pushing the brand with innovative design ideas, whilst ensuring that all marketing collateral (external and internal) reflects the firm's brand attributes and conveys key messaging in a professional manner.
  • Monitoring changing trends in both print and digital spaces, including competitor activity, and make recommendations for developments the firm should make as appropriate.

The Person

You must be flexible and have demonstrable design skills.  A qualification in Graphic Design or equivalent and/or experience in designing for a corporate audience would be a distinct advantage.  The firm is going through a period of rapid growth, so the ability to cope with change and a variable workload, often under pressure, whilst delivering a consistently high quality output is essential.  With a keen eye for detail and aesthetics, you must be able to grasp and distil complex matters quickly.  A competent relationship builder (consultative/professional services experience an advantage), you will be committed to providing high quality design at all times.  You should also have a sound knowledge of the print production process and digital/web technologies.

Technical skills

  • Adobe CC  (including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)
  • Working knowledge of HTML
  • Website content management experience
  • Microsoft Office (specifically Word and PowerPoint, Excel knowledge an advantage)

Additional skills which would be an advantage

  • Adobe CC (Dreamweaver, Premiere, After Effects)
  • Motion graphics
  • Video editing
  • An understanding of Web Standards Compliance and Web Accessibility
  • An understanding of social media channels and their business applications
