Our client is a well-known multinational I.T. company headquartered in Europe.

They are now seeking a talented lawyer to be based in Moscow. 

As Legal Counsel you will be responsible for commercial legal matters within the business in Russia and CIS countries, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements. You will  be the first contact for many departments within the Russian business and will report to the Assoc GC. 

You will also provide counsel regarding compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies. You will work closely with Sales as well as with counterparts in other regions (i.e. Americas, APAC) and the Corporate Legal team to support the Associate General Counsel in the region and globally.

Key responsibilities:

  • draft, review, revise software licence agreements and software related services agreements in English and Russian;
  • review and approve variations to standard contracts within the agreed approval matrix and legal policy framework;
  • creation of various contract related documents (amendments, suspensions, terminations etc.);
  • assist in reviewing and assessing current processes, structures and procedures for efficient legal compliance and support projects
  • establish good working relationships with key internal partners at all levels 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required 

  • qualified lawyer, 7+ years working experience*
  • fluent in Russian & English 
  • profound knowledge of Russian legislation (including managing international sanctions/trade regulation) and court / authorities (tax, customs, banks) practice
  • high-level legal drafting and negotiation skills
  • experienced with contracting in the software industry and / or working with Oil & Gas customers
  • international work experience (work experience within English speaking countries will be an asset)
  • hands-on approach, able to draw decisions without permanent guidance
