This investment advisory firm is looking to hire its first lawyer in London to join a rapidly growing business. This is a really exciting opportunity for a funds lawyer to join a business in a period of growth.

Client Details

An international research and advisory company operating in the alternative investments space.

Description

Reporting into the General Counsel you will be responsible for the following work:

  • Assist with legal structuring and oversight of fund formation, including drafting and negotiation of term sheets, review of offering documents for funds of one and separately managed accounts, and assistance with oversight of service provider engagements
  • Assist with project management and oversight of outside counsel engagements
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, side letters, non-disclosure and other legal agreements
  • Review marketing materials
  • Assist with ad-hoc legal and compliance projects

Profile

The successful candidate will need to be a qualified lawyer who has trained and worked at a top tier funds firm in London. Experience of advising on private investment funds is important.

Prior in house experience would be useful but is by no means essential for this role. Candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a decentralised legal team, working closely with the business and reporting to a General Counsel in New York.

Due to the level of work on offer this role is likely to suit a candidate with approximately 3 - 6 years post qualified experience (although this is not a pre-requisite).

Job Offer

A six figure basic salary + benefits + discretionary bonus.

On top of this my client is offering a supportive and meritocratic working environment with autonomy to advice the business on a wide range of interesting, business critical transactions.
