Description
Negotiate, draft and review customer, supplier and outsourcing agreements across the whole range of goods and services including B2B, B2C on the customer side and IT, Property and General Services on the supply side
Support regulated business with legal and compliance matters including advice on legal issues relating to regulated products, agreements, new marketing and other promotional materials and Treating Customers Fairly
Instructing and managing external legal counsel as required
Supporting the Company Secretary with drafting documents and completing filing requirements
Managing the Group's Growth Share Scheme including administration of scheme, issue of new shares and filing HMRC returns
Drafting and updating policy documents, websites and marketing material as the need arises
Provide commercial advice and support to the New Business and Tender teams including on strategic pricing issues and other commercial agreements
Legal ownership of template terms and conditions and ensuring that they are maintained and updated in accordance with any business or legal requirements
Advise and support the Group with regards to IT, IP and data protection matters
Ensure that all legal arrangements comply with the Group's internal Policies and Risk Parameters
Assist the Senior Legal Counsel and General Counsel in handling key strategic matters from a legal perspective
Awareness of operational and regulatory risk, which may impact on the Group. Responsible for reporting to the Legal Team any risk which may impact on the business
Supervision of junior members of the team including Trainee Solicitor
Deal with key stakeholders at all levels across the business
Align with key stakeholders on delivering legal priorities, including by delivering training and management on key legal topics such as essentials of contract law, and policy needs
Support the Legal and Compliance team with knowledge management
Assist other members of the Legal and Compliance team with workload
Building strong relationships with the businesses and functions, including Procurement, IT, Finance, New Business and Account Management
Providing expert, pragmatic, commercial advice and support
Proactively identifying arising risk areas and working with the business to develop risk mitigation solutions and controls
Keeping aligned with the Group's strategic goals, market conditions and legal developments
Profile
The role requires a technically excellent and pro-active lawyer to provide commercial and legal advice to the Group's businesses as well as advising on compliance, data protection and regulated activities as the need arises. This is an in house Commercial role where you will also undertake other areas of legal work.
Job Offer
The salary will be commensurate with the level of PQE and the benefits include a car allowance and bonus.
