PPL PRS Ltd is the operational licensing arm of the UK’s two music licensing companies, PPL and PRS for Music, responsible for ensuring that hundreds of thousands of businesses and organisations across the UK have the appropriate license they need to play and perform music at their premises.
Previously, businesses and organisations had to obtain separate licenses from PPL and PRS for Music. To streamline the licensing process for businesses and organisations playing and performing music, PPL and PRS for Music joined forces to form PPL PRS Ltd as a 50:50 joint venture based in Leicester. In February 2018, PPL PRS Ltd opened its doors and launched TheMusicLicence, covering virtually all commercially-released music available with just one license, one invoice, and a single point of contact.
