A global corporation is seeking a mid level corporate / commercial lawyer to join their established legal team to take on a broad range of UK + International Legal work.

Description
Supporting the Assistant General Counsel, in the provision of a high-quality and commercially-focused legal service to promote and protect the businesses the group.
Providing clear and incisive legal advice on a broad range of commercial matters across a variety of jurisdictions. This is likely to include advising on contracts and transactional matters (commercial, procurement, licensing, distribution, events, M&A), disputes, regulatory matters, advertising and product liability, competition issues, intellectual property, IT, data protection and compliance issues.
Managing legal risk across the full breadth of the business in a manner that supports and facilitates the continued commercial success of the business.
Ensuring maximum understanding of and compliance with any current and future legal and regulatory requirements affecting the industry and providing training to non-legal colleagues in these areas.
Where necessary, instruction of external counsel and managing that relationship effectively both in terms of costs and impact.
Contributing broadly to the leadership of the business, working effectively with senior management both in the UK and internationally. Creating strong relationships with the divisional businesses, divisional functions and local country businesses who should view him or her as a "go-to" person in legal.
Profile
Suitable candidates for the role will have the following skills and experience:
- Qualified Solicitor in either the UK or a relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience in commercial / corporate transactions.
- Drafting and negotiation experience is essential
- Proven in-house experience is highly desirable.
