Strategic Education Lawyers required to join the Government Legal Department for a minimum of 6 months. The successful Lawyers will preferably have a background in public law, including education, family and equality laws. The successful candidate must also be a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent). The main duties will include giving advice to Ministers and officials in the Department for Education on a range of issues, including schools, further and higher education, child and family issues and equality. A knowledge of public law and education law would be helpful. The role will offer a flexible working option after a period of time, as well the possible option to work from home.

  • Advising on family, equality and education laws

Required skills and experience of the Strategic Education Lawyer

  • Fully qualified Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent
  • Knowledge and background in Public Law
