Our client, a local authority based in the beautiful city of York, is seeking a Housing and Litigation Solicitor to join their friendly team.

It is essential for applicants to have demonstrable experience dealing with both Housing and Litigation matters in a public sector environment. It is also desirable that candidates have experience dealing with anti-social behaviour, including injunctions and committal applications.

The successful Housing and Litigation Solicitor will take on a varied caseload dealing with most areas of housing and litigation, including, but not exclusive to:

  • Anti-social behaviour injunction applications
  • Conducting general housing and litigation work on behalf of the Local Authority
  • Matters include housing disrepair, rent arrears, possession, leasehold matters, homelessness, service charge work
  • Drafting notices, witness statements and pleadings
  • Debt recovery matters

Please note that this is a part-time position of 3 days per week and will be for a period of 6 weeks initially, with the possibility of extension.
