Top 200, centrally based, City Law Firm is looking for a construction lawyer with non-contentious experience. the positions will include;

  • UK standard form construction contracts such as JCT, NEC, TPC/TAC, RIBA, RICS.
  • Construction Act requirements, including advising on and drafting payment notices and pay less notices.
  • Advising multinational Employer/Developer clients on procurement structures and draft and negotiate building contracts, consultant appointments and associated contracts for large mixed use developments
  • Supporting the real estate team  and drafting/amending construction provisions of agreements for lease, carrying out due diligence of landlord/developer construction documentation and associated collateral warranties/third party rights, drafting and advising on tenant fit-out contracts.
  • Carrying out risk reviews on contracts for contractor/consultant clients to advise on key risk areas when tendering for and entering into contracts including identifying potential amendments and if necessary negotiating the contracts.  This includes long term housing repairs and maintenance contracts (TPC/TAC/JCT Measured Term), commercial fit-out contracts, architect appointments.
  • Providing advice to clients on rights and liabilities under contracts (including identifying when specialist contentious advice may be required).

The ideal candidate would also have some contentious experience or be able to deal with adjudications but that is not essential.
