Defendant RTA Solicitor - multi track work up to Catastrophic - Manchester 3 PQE+
RTA SOLICITOR MULTI TRACK - MANCHESTER
Personal injury solicitor RTA Manchester - This expanding motor team is looking for two Associates to focus on litigated multi track work. The main staple of the work is between £100K and £150 and there is higher value work on offer at around £250,000 with some catastrophic injury work. The team is willing to consider candidates from a broad background and will consider those with claimant experience. The key is technical ability. The firm is looking for candidates who are capable of running with a multi track file or at least have the ability to be developed and brought on.
KEY FACTS
- Job Title: Associate
- Location: Manchester
- Salary: £40,000 - £48,000
- Reports to: Partner / Head of Department
- Expertise: Excellent academic background with a 2 at degree level. A fundamental technical understanding of the litigation process. Candidates do not necessarily need to have been exposed to a 100% multi track caseload, but you must have had some experience of multi track work. It should be stressed that PQE is used as a very rough indicator. All levels of PQE will be considered.
NATURE OF DEPARTMENT
The team focuses on five key insurer clients for the firm. Technical ability is key as there is limited scope to refer points to counsel. The nature of the clients means that solicitors working with them are expected to know the detail and give them sound 'commercial' advice on their higher-value matters. Candidates who are used to not relying too much on counsel are certainly encouraged to apply.
DEFENDANT / CLAIMANT BACKGROUND
Those with a defendant background, will obviously be at an advantage. However, it should be highlighted that claimant experience will be actively considered. As mentioned above, the key is the technical capability of the candidate. If you are a solicitor with fast track experience with some exposure to multi track and an otherwise strong CV including strong academics, the team will consider such an application.
Likewise, if you have been practicing on the claimant side, but have some defendant experience as a paralegal, for example, you are also encouraged to apply. Moreover, you may have a considerable amount of PQE which you may think might preclude you from applying - equally, we would be interested in hearing from you.
CAREER PROGRESSION
This is an expanding team, which is only set to grow. Although these two roles are both technical fee earning multi-track positions, there is already a need within the team for another position at managerial / Senior Associate level. Any successful candidate, provided they perform could be potentially ear-marked for this position.
Furthermore, as the team expands other more senior roles are expected to arrive. This team offers a real opportunity to advise on quality, technical multi track work, with a real focus on personal development going forward.
