Employment Solicitor

A Legal 500 firm based in Berkshire is looking for an experienced Solicitor with at least 5 years of PQE to join their expanding Employment and Business Immigration team. Joining the firm’s Reading office, the successful Employment Solicitor will be offered a full-time, permanent role.

Responsibilities of your new role

Dealing with a mixed caseload of contentious and non-contentious issues, the Employment Solicitor will be acting for some claimant but mostly respondent clients in almost every type of sector from financial services to pharmaceuticals, retail, manufacturing, engineering, business and professional services. The successful applicant will give day-to-day advice on Employment matters such as:

• Disciplinary and grievances
• Managing sickness absence
• TUPE transfers
• Conducting redundancy programmes
• Drafting contracts, policies and procedures

Candidate profile

The successful Employment Solicitor will likely demonstrate:

• 5+ years of PQE
• Previous experience working at a City or large commercial practice known for their employment work
• Excellent academic qualifications
• Interest in or experience of handling tier 2 business visas for clients is an advantage
