Our client is a leading international law firm, with over 1,200 partners and staff worldwide, advising on high-profile and ground-breaking transactions around the globe. They are looking to recruit an experienced Privacy Lawyer to join the firm’s in-house Information Security and Privacy team. This is not a fee-earning role.

This is a PART-TIME role for 3 or 4 DAYS/WEEK.

Key responsibilities for the role are as follows:

  • Providing in-house legal advice on all privacy matters that relate to the firm’s practice, including liaising with the firm’s Privacy Partner and General Counsel and overseas offices;
  • Devising and maintaining the firm’s data privacy policies and procedures;
  • Designing and delivering internal training in relation to the firm’s own approach to data privacy;
  • Engaging in the drafting, negotiating and reviewing of the data privacy aspects of agreements with clients and 3rd parties, including suppliers; and
  • Drafting and advising on data privacy documentation such as data sharing and transfer agreements, data privacy impact and legitimate interests assessments.

Candidate requirements are as follows:

  • At least 4 years post-qualification experience;
  • In-house legal experience is preferred but not essential;
  • Strong knowledge and experience of the data privacy environment and legal and regulatory regime in England and Wales;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build effective working relationships at all levels throughout the firm;
  • Ability to work flexibly to tight deadlines in a fast moving environment and to work autonomously with a pragmatic approach.
