Paralegal

A long established and reputable law firm with a strong presence across Devon and the South West is looking for a Paralegal to join their Marine & Shipping team in Plymouth. Offered part-time on a permanent basis, the successful Paralegal will take on a newly created Legal Assistant role.

Responsibilities of your new role

Joining a top rated Marine & Shipping team that advises on a range of contentious and non-contentious work, the key elements of your new Paralegal role will include:

• Providing secretarial and administrative support to the team
• Undertaking an unusually hands on role from day one with far more client contact than you may get in a larger firm
• Assisting clients within the shipping and marine space including international & UK insurers, ship owners/operators, yacht club owners/managers, ports and harbours, yacht owners and more

Candidate profile

To be considered for this Paralegal opportunity your application must demonstrate:

• At least 1 year of experience within a law firm
• Currently employed as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant and looking for a new challenge
• Commitment to a 2-3 days per week role – there may be an option for this to increase in the future
• Any experience or knowledge of Marine & Shipping is advantageous
