The company is looking for an experienced IT / technology lawyer to join their legal team consisting of highly competent multicultural lawyers with top private practice background including Magic Circle firms.

You would be passionate about working close to the commercial team and senior management and acting as a true business partner advising on a diverse portfolio of products and services.

The legal team are at the forefront of this company’s international expansion. They enable the business to move into new markets and geographies, often dealing with novel issues along the way. This is all whilst ensuring that deals get done at scale, and that the multitude of other issues that arise are dealt with appropriately.

The fast-paced and innovative nature of the business means the role will be varied and you will have exposure to a wide range of interesting work across the company.

About you

We are looking for a 4-8 PQE technology / IT / digital / e-commerce lawyer with private practice training, ideally followed by in-house experience offering strategic legal advice to senior management, drafting and negotiating complex agreements and advising on innovative products and legal issues for an international technology company. Fluency in Mandarin would be of benefit.

What you will do

Reporting into Global Head of Legal, you will take a lot of responsibility for varied range of legal issues including strategic accounts and / or vendor and supplier management

You will

• Create strategic solutions to key legal issues and advise management on strategic legal risks
• Negotiate and draft complex agreements (software, services, outsourcing, supplier, vendor, consultancy, technology licensing and development agreements)
• Provide key support on litigation, data protection and regulatory issues
• Instruct and manage external counsel
• Oversee capturing of know-how, provide training on areas of expertise and supervise more junior team members
