Job Description

Solvay promotes a forward-thinking culture with innovation at its core. The legal team offers an interesting and varied workload including commercial, compliance, mergers & acquisitions, competition law, employment law, environmental law, real estate and litigation, supported by external counsel where required.

The role will report into the UK Country Manager & UK Head of Legal and will proactively provide broad legal services to all of Solvay's businesses in the UK, comprising 10 sites & over 40 companies.

The In-House Commercial Lawyer will work closely with Solvay's business stakeholders, senior management, engineers, scientists and international legal teams to help define strategies, participate in negotiations, manage disputes and develop legal policies and guidelines.

The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant will be a mid or senior level Solicitor qualified in England & Wales with strong academic credentials and a broad range of commercial law experience either gained in-house or in a large law firm. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the gravitas to influence all levels of stakeholder, a strong problem-solving ability and teamwork skills.
