North East Legal recruitment specialists JDI Legal have over 19 years dedicated to working with a range of employers in private practice and in house.
We are currently instructed on a brand new expansionary role for a commercial paralegal to work for a superb organisation working under and reporting into the Legal Counsel.
Applications are invited from paralegals who are educated to Law Degree/LPC standard and are confident in the following tasks:
Review, identify and draft routine agreements and monitor the legal records so that information is readily available; • Provide ad hoc legal assistance and where possible resolve minor issues or excalate as appropriate; • Provide support to the Legal Counsel • Liaise with internal parties to obtain information to be incorporated into contracts as required and manage the administrative process such as updating the contracts database; • Manage the flow of documents related to patents and trademark registrations; • Arrange the approval and execution of company documents and contracts in line with the company policies; • Manage a library of template documents for use by the various teams and assisting Legal Counsel by reviewing and updating documents to minimise or mitigate legal risks and implications; • Manage contracts database for use by contract managers to administer their customer agreements within deadlines; • Understanding processes and ensuring all relevant information is obtained to minimise legal risk to the Group.
5. Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Qualifications
Educated to degree standard preferably in business or law and substantial experience of working as a commercial paralegal would also be considered.
Skills & Knowledge
• Knowledge and good understanding of a variety of commercial contracts; • The ability to obtain information and populate template agreements; • Interest in commercial law to be able to support the various teams; • Strong communication skills as the teams are multicultural, diverse and sited across numerous locations; • Sound legal and technical knowledge of commercial issues; • Attention to detail; • Ability to work automonously as well as part of a team; • The ability to track and progress documents; • The ability to prioritse and meet deadlines. This role could be full or part time.
