This Data Protection Manager role is Oxford based and sits in an innovative, forward thinking business that has experienced significant growth since launch three years ago. Current head count sits at around 300, the business is a disrupter in the finance industry, offering consumers competitive and tailored finance solutions.

Description

This Data Protection Manager role is based in Oxford and involves:

  • Alongside the DPO take responsibility for Data Protection compliance (GDPR + DPA 2018) across the Group, including policies and procedures. Chairing the Data Protection Committee
  • Assist with driving implementation of Data Governance within the business, including training, educating and inspiring the teams
  • Prioritise and oversee a programme of work to improve data quality. Identify changes/new processes for the use of data in conjunction with the Data Analytics Team, IT, and Info Security.
  • Contribute to a group-wide data strategy, which forms a part of a business transformation programme including the sign-off of Data Protection Impact Assessments
  • Imagine and communicate opportunities to use our data in different ways to drive benefit for our customers and our business
  • Review, update and implement Data Protection & Privacy Policies and Procedures.
  • Monitor any breaches of the DPA and ensure the appropriate remedial action is taken.

Profile

This Data Protection Manager role is based in Oxford and requires:

  • A collaborative passionate data protection expert demonstrating excellent communication skills to a variety of audiences
  • An Understanding of GDPR from the rules through to the practical implementation of them
  • Must be comfortable using technology and leveraging digital applications and media platforms
  • Expert knowledge of data protection laws - at least (2) years within a similar role (for guidance only, candidates with more or less experience will also be considered and vetted against the role's technical requirements)
  • Strong prior experience as a Privacy/Data Protection Officer in or advising on Privacy/Data Protection issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines
  • The ability to engage with stakeholders
  • The ability to create reports and other materials
