We are looking for a highly motivated person with strong communication and organisational skills to join a busy Local Authority based in East Anglia.
This is a great opportunitiy for a Democratic Services Offider to provide high quality governance support to the Local Authority and its committee system. The succesful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the decision-making procedures comply with the law and the required standardsleading with the Corporate Services Manager, in the provision of an effective and efficient Corporate Services function for the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Council Committees and Working Groups administered by the team.
The successful Democratice Services Officer will be responsible for:
- Providing support to the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Council's Committees, including the preparation of agendas and minutes
- Attening Committee meetings
- Updating and logging data onto IT packages (e. Committee Management Information Systems)
- Provide advice and information to all members in the most effective ways to support the carrying out of their duties
- Attending evening meetings
The Local Authority are happy to work flexibly and whilst this is a contract role, there is potential for the role to go permanent for the right candidate.
