NHS Foundation Trust based in Essex are looking for an interim Legal Services Officer, 3 month contract
Your new company
An NHS University Foundation Trust who provide community health, mental health and learning disability services for a population of approximately 1 million people throughout Bedfordshire, Essex, Suffolk and Luton. They are currently recruiting for a Legal Services Officer for an initial 3 month contract.
Your new role
The Legal Services Officer will be responsible for the management of all Litigation Claims (claims) and requests for information received under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOI) and Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) ensuring full compliance with legislation is adhered to. You will ensure that requests for information are managed in accordance with statutory obligations, national and local standards and support the Trust's business, clinical and operational needs, ensuring a problem solving approach is employed at all times. Furthermore, you will work with staff across the organisation in promoting the appropriate approach for the management of claims and information requests and undertake regular audits to ensure that all policies and procedures are being followed resolving issues as they are identified.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role, you should hold a recognised Legal degree/qualification as well as prior experience of working in the public sector and/or NHS is desirable. You should have demonstrable experience of operational and specialist legislative expertise in field of information sharing, data protection and freedom of information and litigation. Finally, you will ideally have experience of developing and maintaining supportive relationships with a range of professionals, suppliers and stakeholders (internal/external), experience of development, monitoring and ensuring implementation of policies, procedures and business cases and experience of managing staff, including day to day management and supervision.
