Data Protection Solicitor

Leeds based financial services heavyweight requires a Data Protection Solicitor for integral and highly regarded In-house legal team. Reporting into the GC you'll be responsible for providing expert and strategic legal advice across the Group with particular emphasis on (but not limited to) advising upon all aspects of data protection and data privacy law and regulation - including handling all queries, providing coaching and training to business colleagues where required and the oversight of outsourced external legal work.

This is a key role and you'll help identify all relevant new legal and regulatory developments in relation to data protection / data privacy, assessing their impact, inputting to Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and assisting in developing action plans to mitigate the impact of regulatory change as well as taking horizontal responsibility for all DPO activities across compliance on behalf of the DPO.

My client is an employee-orientated and flexible employer with a strong reputation in their sector.

We would anticipate this person having at least a couple of years PQE in GDPR and privacy law, compliance and an ability to review and maintain procedures covering privacy incidents and breaches of legal and regulatory requirements in relation to the processing of personal information.
