Accountabilities
This position is part-time, ranging from 3 – 4 days a week but the employer is flexible and is open to full-time candidates. The post is based in Leeds but flexible working in terms of start times/finish times and/or working from home may also be an option.
You will be responsible for providing advice in relation to contentious construction matters, in order to aid commercial, cost effective and strategic company decisions. Disputes will be wide ranging, including defects, delay and disruption, adjudications and ADR. You can expect to handle standard suite contracts such as JCT contracts and PFI arrangements. During the process, you will frequently handle negotiations and commercial settlements but on occasion, you may refer to external counsel for adjudications, advocacy and complex / high level litigation.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, 2 – 8 years PQE*
- Personable, robust, confident and have a flexible attitude
- Commercial litigation and ADR experience (essential)
- PFI knowledge is highly desirable but not essential
- Knowledge and experience of CDM regulations is highly advantageous

The development opportunities come down to you – you can expand your experience within the litigation field but there is also the prospect of developing your knowledge and skills across the other departments or perhaps jurisdictions.
