Sue Ross Legal are currently recruiting an Accounts and Billing Assistant for our client, a regional firm of solicitors based on the outskirts of Sheffield and close to several transport links. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join their friendly team based at their Sheffield office.
Responsibilities as follows:
• Billing private files for Conveyancing, Wills and Probate, private Family and Private Criminal files
• Assisting members of staff with their billing queries
• Liaising with experts, Counsel, Solicitors and other third parties to gather fee notes
• Inputting costs information onto databases
• Closing files
• Ensuring fee earners are updated with any issues affecting billing
• Maintaining efficiency of billing systems
• Chasing payments of outstanding claims
• Assisting with cashiering duties
• Reconciling bank statements
• Maintaining purchase ledgers
• Conducting book keeping duties
• Monitoring client and office accounts
To be considered for this position you must have similar experience gained within a legal environment and have a strong working knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules. The successful candidate with have excellent analytical skills and be an effective communicator. You must be able to work well under pressure, on your own initiative and thrive in a busy-fast paced environment.
