Our US law firm client is seeking a Professional Development & Training Advisor to join their growing London office. The Professional Development & Training Advisor will be crucial to the implementation of internal and external training and development programmes in the London office, ensuring that high quality programmes are available to Partners, Associates, Trainees and Business Support team within the London office.

Key responsibilities for the Professional Development & Training Advisor will include:

  • Assist the Senior Manager with skills training for associates within the firm in the areas of networking, people management, BD skills etc.
  • Support the Senior Manager by coordinating of technical skills training programme for associates, whilst incorporating the SRA competency framework.
  • Liaising with internal contacts to organise conferences etc. and external contacts such as training suppliers.
  • Work closely with HR to implement trainee induction programme.
  • Lead all internal and external training development programmes for trainees, such as the PSC course pre employment.
  • Utilise internal and external resources to deliver high quality skills training for London Business Support whilst working with the Senior Manager.
  • Asist US Senior Manager of Business Support Training, to coordinate training programmes such as the Trusted Adviser capabilities training.
  • Coordinate with London functional heads to run functional technical programmes.
  • Take lead in all aspects of e-learning training programmes.
  • Research and coordinate external training conferences and seminars.
  • Communicate with external providers to organise conferences and seminars.
  • to prepare the annual PD&T budget for the London office with the Senior Manager.
  • Process invoices from external suppliers.
  • Update the training budget.

The successful candidate for the role of Professional Development Adviser will preferably have at least 2 -5 years' experience in a similar role within a law firm environment. You have excellent verbal, written and communication skills, to ensure personable and professional interaction and collaboration with all levels of staff within the firm including leadership, management and support staff. You must have excellent attention to detail, high levels of organisation and the ability to multitask without supervision in order to deliver high quality product. Lastly you must have proficiency in all Microsoft packages (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and eLearning content creation tools (Camtasia, Articulate and Captivate).
