The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Legal Advisor to join our team of dedicated professionals in our Plymouth office to provide a range of general legal advice to Trade Unions. You will have the opportunity to specifically advise and where necessary, sign off Settlement Agreements.

Having the confidence and ability to take appropriate daily decisions on cases to ensure swift progression will be key to your success. The role

As an admitted solicitor/legal executive, you will be assessing and advising on settlement agreements and identifying any issues which may arise according to the needs of each client. Contacting union officials and members will form a large part of this role and will include development and promotion of this service.

You will therefore need to have excellent knowledge of employment law advice and settlement agreements in particular. The role requires excellent prioritisation skills and meticulous attention to detail to enable you to construct clear and effective arguments, yielding the best result for our clients. You will need to show empathy and understanding, providing a professional legal service with a personal touch.

A day in the life of a Legal Advisor is never the same, however a typical day may include:

• Daily diarised appointments
• Dealing with incoming post, emails and calls
• Dealing with outgoing post, emails and calls
