Legal Counsel - Birmingham City Centre

Award winning, innovative, professional services business is looking to recruit an in-house commercial contracts lawyer to join the internal group functions based in Birmingham city centre.

Reporting to an experienced, entrepreneurial GC you will join the legal and compliance function supporting the business in achieving its core strategic objectives.

The role will consist of a broad diet of commercial law, drafting and negotiating a range of business critical agreements including outsourcing, IT, service, procurement and supplier. You will support and often lead on ad-hoc legal projects across the Group including compliance, GDPR and regulation.

You will also take responsibility for training updates, marketing literature as well as manage external panel lawyers and manage more junior team members.

The role would suit a commercial lawyer with experience of contract drafting and negotiating high value agreements with strong communication and relationship building skills. You will have the necessary credibility and professionalism to influence senior stakeholders, have a positive approach to problem solving and be committed to driving continuous improvement.

You may be a qualified solicitor 2-6 years PQE or a commercial contracts specialist ideally with professional/financial services experience.
