The LEVC (London Electric Vehicle Company) is seeking their first Head of Legal to be based in their brand-new Headquarters in Ansty, near Coventry.
About the Company
LEVC is the manufacturer of the iconic London Black Cab which is utilised in over 40 major cities worldwide. Since the 2013 partnership of the LEVC and the Zhejiang Geely Holding, the business has enjoyed £500m of investment, along with the creation of up to 1,000 new jobs and the opening of the UK's first full scale car plant dedicated to the production of new energy vehicles.
The Role
The Head of Legal will be the first point of contact for all pre-external legal advice, ultimately taking responsibility for managing all legal matters associated with running and expanding the group.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Commercial Contracts, including procurement, supplier, dealer contracts and some IT/IP matters
- Litigation
- Employment
- Banking and Finance
- Property
- Corporate Governance, Company Secretarial and Compliance
The Head of Legal will be required to take charge of the group legal budget - including the appointment and relationship management of the external lawyers. You will also partner closely with internal stakeholders, providing support to shape best practice (including the EU office in Frankfurt).
You will be expected to keep up to date with legislative changes that may impact the organisation and ensure compliance of these matters.
Candidate Requirements
The LECV is looking for a Head of Legal with the following attributes:
- 8+ years’ PQE
- A mix of private practice and in house experience
- An automotive background
- Manufacturing experience
- Technical brilliance

Salary and Benefits
On offer for the successful Head of Legal:
- £85,000 - £105,000 per annum
