Credit Controller

Our client is a truly global law firm, operating in close to 20 territories. They are one of the biggest law firms in the world with turnover of over £1 billion and a headcount of over 5000.

London is their global HQ and is located close to mainline and tube stations. They are now looking to hire a Credit Controller to join their team. You will be liaising extensively with divisional heads, group leaders, partners and business managers to drive forward collection of debts and to inform of incoming cash status.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Senior Credit Controller & Practice Groups by chasing debts for payment in accordance with payment terms.

• Be accountable for the management of debtor balances on matter files.

• Influence fee earners to achieve cash targets by conducting regular individual meetings to review debtor lists & cash pledge information.

• Monitor comments coming out of Partner meetings and ensure they are recorded on the system and agreed actions are carried out or followed up in a timely fashion.

• Identify potential problem areas to Working Capital Manager. Direct communication with clients on debtor balances.

• Initiate new ideas to enhance the client relationship by way of direct contact with clients re provision of debtor information in accordance with client requirements.

• Participate in meetings with internal and external clients to advise on debtor balances and provision of information.
• Management of report requests, including deadlines, from Practice Groups at periodic intervals or on an ad hoc basis.

• Liaison with users to determine business need of information and format required

Candidate Profile

• You will be an experienced Credit Controller from a law firm, or similar professional services firm.

• Good knowledge of VAT and Solicitors Accounts Rules.

• Knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules.
