Leading US law firm has created a fantastic new role in their Compliance team where you will be reporting in to the Partners in Charge and Compliance/AML Partners where you will be responsible to facilitate the set-up of new clients and new matters in line with the compliance of the firm’s onboarding processes for the EMEA offices, with a particular focus on Anti-Money Laundering and Client Due Diligence procedures. Duties will included being asked to monitor the opening of new matters to ensure that the firm’s AML and CDD policies are adhered to, respond to queries from Partners regarding AML Policies, review new client, new matter and client due diligence forms submitted by partners to verify compliance with AML policies, ensure CDD memos, new Client/Matter opening forms and supporting KYC documents are filed on the firm’s central database, maintain adequate records of the status of client identification throughout the identification process, monitor changes to AML rules and regulations and assist the firm’s compliance partners with the updating of AML policies accordingly, undertake an ongoing review of KYC and CDD documentation held for existing clients, assist in the training of new partners and associates on the client intake process and general ad hoc duties, including implementing compliance procedures and policies and supporting projects in support of compliance auditors. Applicants need to have at least 12 months solid legal compliance experience, being degree educated is a preference yet not essential plus having experience with onboarding clients, a good understanding and working knowledge of AML regulations and other relevant legislation in relevant jurisdictions, strong communication and organisation skills plus strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
