Legal Counsel

An iconic British car manufacturer in East Anglia is seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer to join the team as senior Legal Counsel. Offered on a full-time, permanent basis, this In-House Counsel position will suit lawyers based in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk or Suffolk, but there is a relocation package available for those from further afield.

Thanks to a huge influx of investment and an exciting new range due to be released in the next few years, the business is going from strength to strength, increasing in output exponentially and thus looking to grow their legal function with the  addition of a Legal Counsel. The business is already under way with tapping into new markets across America, Europe and Asia, as well as branching into an eco-friendly market with a unique offering.

Responsibilities of your new role

Reporting to the General Counsel, the Legal Counsel will provide legal and commercial advice to the business across multiple areas of law, whilst also supporting the procurement and supply chain divisions. Areas of particular importance will include:

• Commercial contracts;
• Intellectual property and trademark strategy;
• Some Company Secretarial matters; and
• Compliance and regulatory matters.

This will be an extremely broad role which represents a superb opportunity for a senior commercial lawyer looking to further develop their skills in anticipation of a future Head of Legal / General Counsel position.

Candidate profile

The business looks to hire an In-House Counsel who demonstrates:

• 7+ years of PQE
• Brilliant knowledge of commercial law
• Some in-house experience
• Experience in engineering or manufacturing

Salary

The successful Legal Counsel will be offered £70,000 - £85,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
