Legal Director

One of the UK's leading house builders is looking to grow its in-house legal function by appointing a Legal Director to their Oxfordshire team. This is a permanent, full time position.  

Role Description

The Legal Director will have a key advisory role, taking responsibility for land acquisitions, options and promotion agreements.

As the primary legal contact, you will be on hand to offer first line advice, dealing with all transactional work with the assistance of a team of lawyers. Within the Land & Acquisition function of the department, you and your team will be involved of high value and high-profile acquisitions, strategic land opportunities, regeneration projects and some commercial developments. 

You will be taking on work including:

• Affordable Housing Sales on a turn-key / golden brick basis
• Planning Agreements
• Joint Venture Agreements
• Legal Charges
• Post completion work
• Management Agreements and Transfers
• Site Title Due Diligence
• Site set ups
• Related finance documents
• Infrastructure Agreements

Candidate Profile

The business requires a Legal Counsel with:  

• Extensive previous experience in this field
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong development experience – particularly in acquisition and options
• The ability to find creative solutions to problems
• The ability to work to tight deadlines
• The confidence to work with internal stakeholders
• Strong academics
• A can-do attitude
