Legal Counsel

A market-leading multinational company is looking for a senior Commercial Solicitor to join them as Legal Counsel in Northampton. Offered a full-time, permanent role, the In-House Counsel will join the expanding legal team of a highly successful multinational which works with leading businesses and brands on a global scale.

Responsibilities of your new role

Joining an organisation that is international in outlook and multifaceted in nature, you will support the business with key commercial and contractual matters. This is a varied Legal Counsel role with duties including:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts including distribution agreements, supply agreements and purchasing agreements
• Managing a variety of assigned legal projects, protecting the company's interests in contract negotiations, settlements, business practices and litigation
• Preparing legal drafts, opinions, and various documents
• Acting as advisor on legal issues concerning legal rights, obligations and privileges
• Managing external lawyers, maintaining productive and cost-effective relationships.

Candidate profile

To be considered for this In-House Counsel role you must demonstrate:

• 8+ years of PQE with some experience gained in-house ideally
• The ability to provide commercially focused legal advice
• Confidence making key business decisions
• The ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the business.
