Permanent Legal Counsel & Monitoring Officer – up to £84,000 – East of England

Venn Group's specialist legal team are excited to be recruiting for a permanent Legal Counsel & Monitoring Officer to work for an In-House Public Sector Legal Team based in the East of England.

The organisation deals with major developments and improvements in respect of Transport, Housing, Education and Skills across the region.

The organisation is now establishing its permanent legal service and is looking for a Legal Counsel who will undertake the role of Monitoring Officer.

The successful applicant will be expected to carry out various responsibilities including:

• Being responsible for the management and overall provision of effective and timely legal services to the organisation and its Directorates
• Managing the legal team and undertaking a caseload of corporate legal work as well as fulfilling the role of Monitoring Officer
• Responsible for ensuring good governance of the Organisation
• Advising on various day to day legal issues as Legal Counsel and member of the senior management team
• Representing the Organisation in meetings of the board

It is essential that candidates have a level of commercial understanding due to the nature of the Organisation objectives and the projects the legal team will be supporting.

A highly attractive salary of up to £84,000, dependant upon experience is offered.
