Pensions Associate - International Firm
Overview
Our client is a well-established international law firm, providing a wide range of pensions advice to corporate and trustee clients. They are specifically looking for a junior Pensions Associate to add their dynamic team in London.
The Role of a Pensions Associate
The London Pensions team consists of 16 dedicated pensions lawyers and is widely recognised in the industry as a leading specialist practice. Working very closely with other practice groups in the firm, including Employment, Tax, Disputes, Corporate, Financial Service, Banking and Finance, the team provide integrated advice on large scale pension projects such as asset-backed funding, longevity swaps and insurance transactions as well as the pensions aspects of corporate mergers and acquisitions and disputes. The scope of this advice encompasses trust law, specialist pensions legislation affecting pensions schemes to change benefit structures, common investment arrangements, discrimination in pension schemes, litigation, applications to the court, advising independent trustees. The new Pensions Associate will be joining a team that plays a pivotal role in the firm’s global pensions group and takes the lead in co-ordinating global projects.
Key responsibilities of a Pensions Associate
- Advising both companies and trustees on the legal aspects of pension arrangements.
- Developing relationships with clients including gaining a good knowledge of the client’s businesses, economic drivers, market and sector requirements in order to ensure advice is relevant and commercial.
- Engaging in business development activities and being active in the promotion of the firm and seeking opportunities for new work
To be considered for the Pensions Associate role you will have:
- 0-2 years PQE
- Strong academics with experience working at a city/leading law firm
- Strong technical knowledge and be very commercially astute
- Understanding of the need to support clients and provide the highest levels of service
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships is key
