An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Advisor to join a successful niche recruitment company based in Havant.

Location: Havant

Salary: Up to 35k (depending on experience)

Reporting directly to the Director of Business Support, the main responsibilities are:

  • Act as the group's main point of contact for all legal queries.
  • In consultation with relevant stakeholders, draft, review, negotiate and finalise all contracts for the companies within the Group. This includes internal and external contracts, standard and non-standard terms of business.
  • Ownership of the contract management process, including uploading signed T&Cs to CRM(s), updating the group's T&Cs tracking sheet, drafting and disseminating the SoC (Summary of Contract) for non-standard T&Cs.
  • Identify and address contractual requirements that affect or impact other teams, such as Compliance or Finance. Ensure these stakeholders are consulted and suitable compromises and/or new processes are developed prior to contract signature.
  • Act as the group's SME for all data protection issues and queries, including managing the DPO inbox. Ownership of the process for data breaches.
  • Continually assess legal exposure and risk against commercial opportunity for all aspects of the group across a wide range of issues/queries. Be able to make these assessments quickly and with sufficient understanding of the relevant considerations and wider impact on the Group.
  • Working closely with the Compliance Team Leader and the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure a joined up approach between Legal, Compliance and Quality.
  • Active participant in legislative change projects; supporting the Project Manager, updating T&Cs as appropriate, implementing new or amended processes within the Legal function to achieve compliance.
  • Educating, supporting and assisting the sales teams to achieve the group's defined legal standards, including the delivery of training on legal issues as appropriate.
  • Agreeing and meeting quarterly objectives as agreed with the Director of Business Support.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Proven current experience of providing legal and commercial support to a complex and/or demanding client base
  • Excellent knowledge of reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Law degree

Desirable:

  • Experience within the recruitment industry or other sales-orientated industry
  • Experience of working in a busy role managing multiple matters simultaneously
  • Qualified legal practitioner
