First Dispute Management (FDM), a firm of solicitors specialising in financial mis-selling claims, is looking to expand its financial litigation team in response to a large number of instructions from insolvency practitioners relating to so-called Plevin claims.
There are opportunities for both qualified solicitors (from NQ+ to 5 years) as well as for paralegals (straight out of the LPC or otherwise). Training is available for those candidates with limited experience. You should have some litigation experience (from the LPC or in practice) and a genuine interest in financial mis-selling claims. The team uses ProClaim, so some knowledge of this would be useful but is by no means essential. You will be dealing with the whole litigation process rather than one part of it and there are opportunities for progression.
FDM is located in modern, open-plan offices off St Ann’s Square in the heart of Manchester and within easy reach of Victoria and Piccadilly railway stations and the Manchester tram system.
Salaries are very competitive and include a bonus scheme. Lawyers at FDM work on a 35-hour week basis with flexibility between the hours of 8am and 6pm on weekdays, so candidates will need to be able to work between those hours.
