Our client is one of the largest and most successful offshore law firms, with an exceptional reputation around the world. They have strong relationships with the leading onshore firms in London and New York and as a result are instructed on some of the largest and most complex transactions in the offshore world. The firm's global transactions team operates from offices across Europe and Asia as well as from the head office in the Cayman Islands, ensuring that they are able to advise on offshore matters that touch multiple jurisdictions. They have an enviable roster of clients, including many of the largest banks, funds, and private equity houses.
The firm has a growing regulatory group based in Cayman that advises the firm's clients on the impact of regulatory requirements on transactions around the world. They are heavily involved in M&A and fund transactions for clients across the US and Europe, as well as offering advice and support on issues such as money laundering, bribery, corruption, and international sanctions.
They are now seeking a new mid-level associate to join them in Cayman. The successful candidate will come from a financial services background and will likely have advised clients in the investment management and / or private equity industries in the past. No knowledge of Cayman-specific regulation is required, but it is expected that applicants will be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of various UK / European legislation such as MiFID II, AIFMD, FSMA, and the Bribery Act.
Please note that you must be qualified in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada and have at least 2 years' PQE to be considered for this position due to visa requirements in Cayman.
