Infrastructure Engineer - Liverpool

A large successful North West based Law firm is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer/Manager to join its IT Team in Liverpool. If you have experience with IT Infrastructure, Microsoft Technologies and Application Support and have an analytical and strategic problem-solving mindset then this presents an excellent opportunity.

Working closely with other IT Team members you will concentrate on delivering and managing infrastructure projects which support the wider IT strategy and enable the company to deliver excellent IT service to its colleagues, fee earners and clients.

The main requirements of the role are:

  • Delivery of infrastructure projects across the business, identifying, troubleshooting and resolving complex issues - acting as a point of technical escalation as needed.
  • Coordinate internal and 3rd party resources as needed for IT Infrastructure projects.
  • Developing and maintaining Operational Infrastructure and IT Systems
  • Working collaboratively with the IT Team, embracing change and supporting the IT dept policies, vision and strategy.
  • Creating and maintaining systems configuration documentation, including test plans and recovery methods.
  • Ensure prioritisation and escalation processes are followed to ensure any IT issues are resolved.

  • Previous Experience: Experience of the legal/insurance sector is an advantage. Prior Infrastructure support experience of 3+ years ideal.

As would be expected, the role of an Infrastructure Engineer requires excellent problem-solving, organisational and prioritisation skills and an attention to detail. Working within a Team you are also required to exhibit excellent written and verbal skills. Additionally;

We are looking for someone with knowledge and proficiency in:

  • ITIL and Prince2 - ideally with qualifications
  • Microsoft operating systems, MS AD / Azure AD and enabling services
  • Microsoft Azure / Office 365 Cloud (essential)
  • Firewall management - Cisco / Palo Alto (essential) and understanding of Cybersecurity
  • Expert knowledge of Storage, Networking, Virtualisation - VMWare/Cisco/NetApp - Flexpod (essential)
