A Local Authority based in Cambridgeshire is seeking a Planning Lawyer to join them on a locum basis for a period of 6 months initially and the view to extend beyond that.
Our client is a shared service so you would be completing work on behalf of three Local Authorities.
As the locum Planning Lawyer, you will be undertaking a diverse caseload of planning matters and there is a range of both routine and complex matters including some high level project work on offer. Current projects include housing regeneration schemes, accessing land for new sites, rail freight and working alongside HS2 project.
The workload will involve a range of cases and the client is happy to train and develop someone who may not have experience in all of the areas below:
- Planning and Highways agreements (s106, s278 and s38)
- Certificate of lawfulness
- Development consent orders
- Enforcement notices
- Compulsory purchase orders
- Attending Planning committees
Our client is very flexible and is happy to consider those wanting to work a condensed working week, part time or full time. There is also flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week. Due to the urgent nature of the role, clients are happy to consider candidates on notice no more than 1 month.
We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing. Alternatively, should you require further information or wish to discuss your suitability before applying, please contact Chelsey Newsom in our Manchester office for a confidential discussion.
