Insolvency / Corporate Restructuring Associate - This is a fantastic opportunity for a solicitor with both contentious and non-contentious insolvency experience to join a well-established city centre team with an outstanding reputation in the market.

The successful applicant will support the corporate restructuring Partner in Manchester, whilst being given the freedom and support to develop their own network and following. To be clear, anyone interested in applying does not require their own following, but they should have already started developing their network in the North West market with a keen interest in business development.

NATURE OF THE TEAM

Our client is a leading national corporate/commercial law firm with a thriving corporate restructuring and insolvency practice. Solicitors within the team advise on a vast range of matters. Examples of work include advising banks and other asset-based lenders on enforcement and claims against insolvent companies as well as advising insolvency practitioners on claims against companies or individual directors especially with regard to antecedent transactions and illegal issuing of dividends.

The team is also equally involved in high level restructuring and business turnaround initiatives. Indeed, a significant portion of the work is advisory in this regard.

THE POSITION IN MORE DETAIL

The opportunity is to directly support one of the Partners within the team who is growing restructuring team in Manchester. You will be assisting him in delivering advice to clients whilst also developing new clients including a network of your own. A following is not required, though candidates should demonstrate a willingness to business develop.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

As in all areas of law 'commerciality' is a key pre-requisite. The Partner is looking for a lawyer with a common sense, pragmatic approach; a driven candidate, technically proficient, but also someone who can apply in a commercial complex to obtain the best outcome.

Ideally, you should have gained solid experience from a reputable Manchester firm and be looking to really build your career with a leading department that continues to assert itself in the market.
